Concord Forest
It’s a very green long weekend. The leaves are out, the ground is a little wet, the lilacs are in bloom, the irises, lupins and rhododendrons are almost there - all of which means spending more time outdoors … even if it’s between these pesky rain showers/storms

This includes squeezing in a short walk at Emerson Point, which is now one of my go to spots for a quiet spot to paint or sketch.

And taking advantage of the early morning blue skies before the grey clouds roll in. The Jones River Wharf was maybe a foot above high tide yesterday morning. I actually waited for thirty mins before pulling in and feeling confident that the car wouldn’t get washed away !! The winds were also a little too strong for paddleboarding, so I set up the chair and pulled out the paint brushes while I waited for better conditions. Not a bad morning and worth getting out there bright and early.

We eventually had a spectacular day on Monday, which actually felt like a vacation day.

I came across a lobsterman on his Lobster Board this morning. I couldn’t believe it. There is a first time for everything !!

And this afternoon we made our annual spring visit to Crane Estate. I arrived early to squeeze in some sketching. I love this vista and will return to continue to work the view.

Laurence and I even made it into the water - and it was just awesome! Seriously felt so good. The new Xterra wetsuit did the trick.

Enjoy the week … it felt good to have a real spring day today. Summer will be with us soon enough …!!
